Well, Well, Well……. 5 of the Top 11 teams “had a mud hole stomped in them and walked dry” in Week 6. No question the Vandy win over Bama was the biggest but not far behind were “them Hogs” taking care of Tennessee. Missouri was exposed like a dude having a vasectomy on a picnic table in Central Park. Michigan and USC picked up losses on the road as well.

Week 7 should be equally exciting ( ok, not for Vandy or Woo Pig Sooie ) for college football fans! 3 Top 25 ranked match ups and plenty of other games that start the beginning of “CFP elimination” games. Don’t worry, Padre and ZT will ease your mind with some comforting prognostications.
Prognostication Accountability Update Padre 34-18 ZT 28 – 20
Apparently ZT’s new nails were not completely dry last week so he made up no ground vs the Padre but didn’t lose any either….Convinced Week 7 is “Separation Saturday”!!
Padre up first in the pole position!!
South Carolina vs. Bama:
Although a pastor, I detest so called “End-Times Theology”. In my not so humble opinion, the obsession of trying to find signs to predict the end of the world is both a fruitless and embarrassing exercise. And yet…..Vandy beat #1 Bama. Let me write that again — Vanderbilt University (home of famous players like……… uh 🤔 Jay Cutler?) beat the University of Alabama (home of, well, the list would be too long to type…basically like 5% of the Professional Hall of Fame). Is this a sign of the Apocalypse?! Instead of the Left Behind series, maybe it was meant to be called the “Left Out” series — as Bama may be “left out” of the CFP if this continues. Then trust me, if that happens, the world will come to an end in the state of Alabama! But nothing cures a really tough loss like getting to play SEC whipping post Vanderbi……..oh wait. (Clears throat) — But nothing cures a tough loss like getting to play perennially overrated South Carolina. Bama rebounds and rolls big by a score of 48-16.

Penn St vs USC: While I did not pay a ton of attention to Southern Cal in the past, am I being a jerk when I say that I pay even less attention to them now that they are in the BigTen? I know these are two historic programs, but I seriously have more interest in watching new football powerhouses Vanderbilt and Kentucky battle it out this week. But since I have to pick the game, I say Riley’s boys rally from the abyss and take down Penn State by a score of 26-24.
*I did not think I was this SEC biased until I became a husband and father and have less free time to focus on other conferences. 😏 So much for being an enlightened guy.
Texas vs Oklahoma: Texas gives their recruits Lamborghinis. What does Oklahoma give their recruits? The latest four wheel drive schooner wagon? Does it come with Bose speakers, at least? — I kid. We all know OU has been paying very well for years! They were NIL proficient before it was legal. Why else would kids leave cities like Austin and Dallas for Norman? 😏 OU fans are going to kill me. 🤣 I kid again. I have no problem with OU, but Texas looks great so far. Oklahoma looks average. Maybe above average. Maybe even below average. So with that, my full proof logic says…….Oklahoma pulls off the big upset. OU wins the Shootout in a close one, 24-23.

Florida vs Tenn: Last week, my Gators beat “mighty” and “former national champion” UCF. Program changing win in Gainesville? 😏 In the second half, Gus’ offense had about as much hurry-up as as a puppy realizing he’s about to be neutered at the vet. Some of my fellow Florida fans are wondering if we have turned that so-called “corner” and have a shot in this game in Knoxville. By some, I mean that one fan online who is always positive no matter the circumstances. You know the type. He’s that guy who believes everything will be okay despite all the evidence to contrary. He’s the guy you want to throw off the train — but your conscience won’t let you….because you know he’s nicer than you, and he realizes watching 20 year olds play a game is not life itself. Those guys make me sick….and feel guilty at the same time. 😏 Anyway, Napier said he hopes it doesn’t become a shootout. My fear is that it becomes a terminal diagnosis for his tenure….or worse. Tennessee puts another nail in Napier’s coffin. The question will be is it the final nail? Time will tell. Tennessee wins 41-17. Then that one fan gets online and types how he “would rather lose as a Gator than win as a Vol.” 😡 Nice people with good perspectives = Go be a Conf USA fan, dude.
Ole Miss vs LSU: The Magnolia Bowl….where LSU wins a lot more often than the Rebs. Kiffin knows his room for error is small. Florida fans know more Ole Miss losses means….well, you put it together. Baton Rouge on a Saturday night = beer, crawfish, cajun seasoning, some more beer, keg stands (which is beer), cajun bbq, jello shots, a few fights, more beer, a few more fights, even more beer, an outright brawl, and then hugging it out over, well, you guessed it, beer..….and all of that is by Noon. The game starts at 6:30pm. The crowd will be LOUD and full of “spirits”. I think Ole Miss is the better team, but Death Valley is the difference. LSU with the mild upset by a score of 31-30.

Kansas State vs Colorado: It’s Bling! vs. Corn? 🤔 K-State is one of those programs you pull for because their whole program defies the odds. And believe it or not, they are favored. But that bling buys some 5 Star talent. In a mild upset, Prime Time’s Millionaires take down humble K-State by a score of 30-26.
THE GAME OF THE WEEK
Ohio State Vs Oregon: Classic Unis vs. If the Jetsons designed football uniforms. Old Money vs. New Money (and lots and lots and lots and lots of new Nike money). Great mascot vs. great mascot. I think this will be a good game, but I am sticking with tradition over modernism in this battle. The Scarlett and Gray take down the Green and Green and Green — and another shade of green — by a score of 27-20.
ZT is in the house!!
South Carolina Gamecocks vs #7 Bama 11am
Both teams trying to recover from a loss but ZT would note the Bama loss was potentially worse as Vandy, with ZT’s favorite QB, Diego Pavia ( word is Taco Bell is considering rekindling their 1989 “Run for the Border” for a HUGE NIL deal with him ) dominated the Tide in Nashville. Vandy exposed some weakness in the Bama defense. SO….who gets their “stuff” together and comes ready to rebound for a win this week. Gamecocks only managed at FG at home vs. Ole Miss but the Beamer Defense is good ( holding Ole Miss to 27 ain’t bad if you can score! ). Expect points in this one…. Bama 31 Chicken Tenders 24

#4 Penn State Nittany Lions vs USC Trojans 230pm
Can the Nittany Lions leave the friendly confines of Happy Valley and get a road win over a more tested legion of Trojans? Note USC’s losses have been close but both on the road ( @ Minn & Michigan ). It’s not been hidden ZT is not a PSU HC James Franklin fan ( although he was good at Vandy but didn’t beat Bama….ZT what does that have to do with anything, particularly this game?? ) noting he is 3-17 vs. Top 10 teams at PSU. Good news? USC is not Top 10 or ranked….His record in that space it 52-16. Expect Trojans to bounce back at home and play more like they did vs Wisconsin and LSU. Home helps the USC cause but is it enough? ZT trusts Penn State and Franklin on the road about as much as I do an email stating I just need to send some money to an African lawyer to get me an inheritance from a prince I was just found to be related to……. Upset in the land of fruits and nuts….. TROJANS 28 Unhappy Valley dwellers 24
#1 Texas Longhorns vs #18 Oklahoma Sooners 230pm
Red River Rivalry is still in tact….just now its in the SEC, SEC, SEC!!!! And that means “the heat is on” for both programs ( nice Beverly Hills Cop reference ZT….geez ). For the Longhorns, QB Ewers is back and that did allow Baby Arch to get some playing time. Defensively, Texas is good…no one has surpassed 300 yards on them this season. Expect the Sooners to pressure Ewers and see if he is a bit rusty like when the Tin Man got caught in the rain or started crying when Dorothy went back to Kansas to watch K. State play…. ( ok, no references to the poppy fields near the Land of Oz ZT! ). OU offense must be error free this week, do it without #1 WR Burks, and win the possession battle. If in Norman, more of a shot….but it’s in Dallas. Longhorns 34 Uncovered Wagon 24

Florida Gators vs #8 Tennessee Volunteers 600 pm
Padre had a smile on his face Sunday morning after the Gator victory over UCF. Ok, it was forced as he is still not happy but a W this week and the joy will be real! Vols loss to “them Hogs” in Fayetteville was not supposed to happen. While many are questioning if Missouri and Bama were “exposed” in their losses….no one is saying that about the Vols, yet. If any concerns about the Vols “looking ahead” to Bama, that is off the table as well. Gators had a good week with Mertz and gang taking care of the ball and the defense holding UCF at bay in The Swamp. Believe Heupel can fix the woes from last week. Close in 1st half, but college football plays 2 halfs ( brilliant observation ZT…..also is it halfs or halves?? ) VOLS 38 Wally Gator 24

#2 THE Ohio State Buckeyes vs # 3 Oregon Ducks 630pm
Match up of the week!! Both these squads took care of business in Top 5 team fashion. Buckeyes look solid as they are ranked #4 in scoring offense and #1 in scoring defense. They have not played a team like Oregon, who looks better after evaluating the Boise State win and hosting this one in Eugene. HC Dan Lanning needs a big W and this would be it as a newby in the Big 10. ZT also loves QB Dillon “I’m an angel” Gabriel ( 1,449 yds, 11 TDs, 3 INTs ) leading the Ducks to over 31 points in each of the last 4 games. Defense only allowed more than 2 TDs vs Boise State in week 2. Sounds good, right? Oh thats right, they are playing OHIO STATE!! # 1 Defense in the country and they are faster than a fat kid reaching for a snickers bar. Buckeyes can run and that reminds ZT of the Boise State issue vs the Ducks. It will be a battle but…. Buckeyes 28 Qwackers 24

#9 Ole Miss Rebel/Landsharks vs #13 LSU Tigahs 630pm
Lane Kiffin took the Rebels to Columbia and they are still using cadaver dogs to look for the remains of the Gamecocks. Loved the 2 TD’s by 325lb. Rebel Nose Guard JJ “I’m HUGE” Pegues.
Tigahs picked a great week for a Bye with multiple upsets leading into week 7. An extra chip on their shoulder this week with ND jumping Brian Kelly ( and the Tigahs ) in the polls. This has the all the makings ( as do a few other games ) of a CFP early elimination contest. Rebels Defense leads the nation in tackles for loss & top 5 in 3rd down stops. They better be ready as the TIGAH Offense talent is good and are 4th in allowing fewest sacks ( take that Ole Miss! ). ZT believes LSU QB Nussmeier does what Jayden Daniels didn’t last year ( even with Lyin Brian on the sideline )…. Upset Special. Tigahs 34 Kiffin’s Confederates 31
#18 Kansas State Wildcats vs Colorado Buffaloes 915pm
The pleasantry of the Midwest vs. glitz and glamor of Prime Time. Purple Power Cats had a week off after a win over Okie State. Buffaloes have reeled off 3 wins after an early September thumping by Nebraska.. K State can run the ball. Apparently Buffalo strategy is to allow teams to do that so they can get Baby Prime Time back on the field noting by their 80th ranked run defense. Also note Colorado offense is 126th in rushing. Overhead at Buffaloes’ practice “ I never met a ball I didn’t try to throw”. ( WEAK effort at a Will Rogers style quote ZT for the 2nd straight week & you missed that pick last week!! ) Purple Power Cats. 35 Buffalo Chips 34

ZT is out!
