CFB 2026 Week 4 More Real Games!

Love the schedule this week with 6 contest between teams ranked in the Top 25!! Will note UMASS will try to stay undefeated this week playing at Sacramento….ZT will keep you posted on the Minutemen as they earned it!

Week 3 had all the drama expected. Doing our best not to reference that one coach in the South who got more air time that Trump before the press ban!

You get what we mean!!! Thanks Carly Simon!!

Pigskin Prognostication Accountability Update:

Tough week…both the Padre and ZT were 5-5, though they got there by different paths. For the season both are 23-12 but just have a feeling this is a breakout week.

Padre still in the Lead Off position (note last week of MLB Regular Season)

WEEK 4 PICKS

Well, maybe I should always pick against my Gators! I confess, I really wanted to win that game on Saturday. Wait, look at me. “I wanted to win,” as if I somehow had anything to do with it. Wait again, does this mean we’re back?!?!? Only fans of winners talk like that. When they lose, they are “they.” In that, “they stink” or “they can’t stop a nosebleed.” But when it’s a win, it’s “we won.” Anyway, it was great to beat Auburn at Jordan-Hare, but our defense (“our”?!?!?! 😆) is about as good at keeping the scoreboard low as the gas station is at keeping gas prices down – the numbers keep getting higher by the week! But, with that, it still felt good!

But that is the past, and now we move on to Week 4
!

Vandy @ Auburn: My Auburn “friends” are not happy! I even had one of them cuss around me when talking about the game with my Gators (and the word wasn’t PG-13). You read that and thought, “So what?” – but I promise you that does not happen that often to me as a pastor. 😇 Vandy is coming off what may be the most absurd way to win that I have ever seen in football. A true Music City Miracle. And Auburn was giving up 3rd-and-longs like a French soldier gives up when his country is invaded (it’s just a joke!!!). I sense Auburn feels desperate going into this game. Therefore, I will take the Tigers at home. Auburn-26, Vandy-16.

Ole Miss @ Florida: My Gators are favored. And, as I write this, the line actually grew! While I am super happy about the win last week, and I have probably watched YouTube highlights of the big plays more than I would ever like to admit as a grown man, I still have no earthly idea how we are favored against the Rebs. Ole Miss has one of the best offenses in the country, and the best that I can say of Florida’s defense so far is the Southern football version of, “Bless your heart.” I want to pick my team. But I typically try to pick with my head and not my heart. Like last week, I hope my head get this one wrong. Ole Miss-45, Florida-31.

If they lose in the swamp..they are sad!

Iowa @ Michigan: Iowa scored 55 last week. That alone should make you wonder about the Apocalypse possibly being on the horizon. Well, the end of all things will be postponed…at least this week. Michigan-23, Iowa-17.

South Carolina @ Bama: I live in South Carolina. While I am in Clemson country, I do know many Gamecocks. It feels like Beamer’s shine is fading faster than a New Year’s resolution in late January. Bama may give up some points, but they will be ready to score more. Bama-38, South Carolina-24.

It was going ok till they passed Birmingham….

Texas A&M @ LSU: Last week was something to see. In a time of heightened anxiety and division, 49 states and 99% of college football fans were united in their desire to see Lane Kiffin lose. And he did! Thanks to Ole Miss, and the “non-biased” judge that gave Trinidad Chambliss a sixth year (or seventh or eighth or whatever it is now), America got their wish. With that, I think the decline of Lane Kiffin is greatly exaggerated. The game could have gone either way, and I think he is grateful last week is all behind him. I still think LSU is really good. And I think Lane will be fine (I also think Texas A&M is really overrated). LSU-34, Texas A&M-16.

Oregon @ USC: Something has to give for Lincoln Riley and USC. A deflated duck may just be the prescription…at least for a week. I think the Trojans pull off the mild upset at home. USC-30, Oregon-27.

Oklahoma @ Georgia: Last week, as I searched to watch the Clemson/UNC game restart, I turned to ESPNNEWS (where it was to finish on TV). As I waited for the game to begin again, I had to watch The Classic Tetris World Championship for five minutes. I bring that up because that was more enthralling than Oklahoma’s offense. I think I would rather watch the triple option while eating steamed broccoli and Brussels sprouts than be stuck watching Oklahoma trying to score points. And I don’t think it is about to get any more tolerable. I think the Dawgs are going full-blown Cobra Kai and showing no mercy. Georgia-37, Oklahoma-10.

one of Kirby’s favorite actors

Mizzou @ Miss State: In the words of Will Ferrell’s character in Zoolander, “Starkvegas is so hot right now!” The great surprise team of the SEC continues to stay hot. Miss St-27, Mizzou-23.

Texas @ Tennessee: The game of the week! Burnt Orange vs. Sunny D Orange. Lamborghinis vs. No Telephone Bills. Texas Tequila vs. Tennessee Whiskey. I think Texas is a better team than Tennessee, but I think Neyland Stadium is worth a touchdown or more. The game is close, with a few lead changes…but I have a feeling the Volunteers find a way at home. Late in the game, while driving to win, Manning (the Texas Manning) throws a heartbreaking pick. Ella Langley may have had her man choose Texas over Tennessee, but the Tennessee Athletic Department may be chasing goalposts into the river around 4:00pm. The most thankful person after the game? – Holly Rowe talking to Josh Heupel. Tennessee-29, Texas-24.

Holly will need this if she has to chase down Sark….but not Heupel!

Here is to another great week of Division 1 Semi-Pro Football. May the NIL be with you!

Gator out.

ZT recognized he needed to up his game this week after the Pakistani “average in math but they know cricket” theory produced a .500 result. ZT went Chinese this week noting they are amazing at math ( you know did cheat off a Chinese student’s math test at some point in your life! ) and the food, as note below, is delicious! Add in the visit to the White House this week, let’s go!!!!

ZT went Rice & Lo Mein for an extra boost of math power!!

Texas Longhorns @ Tennessee Volunteers 11am

Longhorns head to Knoxville with a roster priced about the same as a Gulfstream G600. Understand Sark programmed all their headphones to only play Rocky Top 24/7 beginning Thursday. He was willing for them to lose a few IQ points to not be distracted during the game. ZT ‘s gut says the Vols get the upset ( ZT, your gut also likes sushi from a gas-station ) Upset Special Vols 28 Broken Horns 24

Oklahoma Sooners @ Georgia Bulldogs 230pm

The Sooners welcome in Athens will be like …. Bulldogs reload annually with 5 Star talent the way they refill coffee at the Waffle House. OU HC Venables needs to avoid turnovers, penalties, and QB Mateer cannot afford throw an INT if they are to win. ZT going with the Dawgs and for Kirby to explain in the presser how bad they played and need to practice now. Dawgs 31 Laters 17

Good time for Bark Boy to show up!!

Ole Miss Rebels @ Florida Gators 230pm

Whoa! Gators favored in the swamp after a nice road win at Auburn. Jon Sumrall was asked about it and he noted “ Lot of good drugs out there!” HVAC Tech Pete Golding did a great job of navigating the Rebels to a victory over LSU last week at home. Question is can they recover from the euphoria of that win. Will note Rebels QB Trinidad “Yeah, I’m Bad” Chambliss has 7 TDs and almost 1,000 yds in 3 games. He is hotter than a cast iron skillet at a church fish fry. Gators do have 162 points in 3 games and ZT is confident the players LOVE Coach Sumrall after last weeks post game locker room speech. ZT’s “good drug” was extra strength soy on his Low Mein…. Gators 31 Col Rebs 30

Vandy Commodores @ Auburn Tigers 315pm

Commodores proved that being smart generates good luck. They had a 0.1% chance to win vs. NC State but the W did get on the final play of the game. Tigers had a tough loss to the Gators but expect full Jordan Hare voodoo to be in force. ZT going with the Tigers as picking against them at home has the same survival rate of grabbing a power line while standing in a pool. Tigers 28 Young Einsteins 24

Iowa Hawkeyes @ Michigan Wolverines 400pm

This will be the kind of football your grandfather calls “beautiful, just beautiful”. ZT sees running, punting, rinse, repeat. Maybe the first time a draw play on 3rd and 8 is considered a set up strategy for later in the game. Wolverines high $$ QB Bryce Underwood’s QBR is 59.2 and ranks him 65th nationally….ZT says this is his week and is boycotting corn as well!! Wolverines 23 Corn Cobs 17

It wont be pretty!!

South Carolina Gamecocks @ Bama. 6pm

So…..Gamecocks get upset at home and Bama is down to Norvell’s Night Stalkers 21-6 in the 2nd quarter. Bama OC Ryan “I’m a Nub” Grubb decided to chastise the crowd for booing at that point. What he didn’t learn playing at the elite Buena Vista University ( whose mascot is Buford T Beaver..) is the fans were just booing HIS play calling and nothing else. Told they gave him EA Sports College Football 2027 at that point and he updated his play calling. Gamecocks moved the ball but too many FGs and Bulldog QB Ka“Super”Mario Taylor’s 4 TD’s sent them migrating South to T-Town this weekend. Tide starts faster ( ZT that could simply mean a 1st down made in any of the first 3 offensive series. ) and gets it done under the lights in T-Town. Bama 34 Cluckers 20

Roll Tide Bubba!!

Texas A & M Aggies @ LSU Tigahs 630pm

Not many expected this game to be a battle of 2 teams coming off losses. Both need a rebound win worse than a Chihuahua needs an attitude adjustment. Tigahs will be fine as they tailgates started Wednesday morning. Aggie have enough 5-stars to start their own galaxy but ZT notes QB Marcel “I feel the need” Reed has got to turn it up 3 notches ( 6 TDs and 3 INTs – 54.3 QBR ) or they will get smoked in Death Valley. ZT smelling the smoke and didn’t even mention the LSU Head Coach! Tigahs 31 Agonies 20

#20 Oregon Ducks @ #12 USC Trojans 630pm

Ducks responded to their Week 2 loss by beating up on Portland State, who essentially has a $0 NIL budget. Their motto is. “Let Knowledge Serve the City”…..what the city knows is $590k was not enough for that 84-0 beating. And now they travel to LA to play the 4-0 Trojans. Ducks Offense is faster than a squirrel crossing a 2 lane road. Love the Trojans run game so one key is can their defense hold the Ducks to allow the Trojan run game to stay in tact for 4 quarters. Scoreboard operator may need an assistant in this one. Trojans 35 Foie Gras 34

That will take out a Duck!!

Missouri Tigers @ Mississippi State Bulldogs 645pm

Mizzou HC Eli Drinkwitz had a tough time with the Troy Trojans and now gets a road trip to StarkVegas to play an emboldened group of K-9s who shocked ZT by beating the Gamecocks in Columbia ( not that hard to shock you ZT as you thought eating Pakistani food was going to help you prognosticate last week ). Mizzou still looking for a permanent seat at the SEC grown ups table & this is another step in that process. Expect the cowbells to be so loud the milk production will drop to a 5 year low in a 50 mile radius of the stadium. This game is like a great BBQ shack that the folks who know about it don’t need advertising….it may be one of the best games of the day. Redneck Bulldogs 34 Midwest Tigers 27

Why do you never see Elephants hiding in trees? Because they are so good at it!

What did the football player say to the flight attendant? Put me in Coach!… (If you know you know on this one…...hint John Fogerty song )

Padre and ZT back next week with October Prognostications!
